Viola (Johnny Jump Up) - growing no taller than 15-20cm in height, the flowers seems to bloom almost endlessly in our forgiving Australian climate. Johnny Jump Up provide an excellent border of colour to the domestic garden and presents a tempting offering of delights not just for the home gardener, but also the array of beneficial insects it attracts. Approximately 30 seeds per pack. Please note seeds are not available for shipping to WA.
Calendula - perfect as a bee attracting garden border, but also an excellent cut flower. Its double blooms have a quilled effect to the central petals that comes in shades of gold and orange, many with a black centre. Easy to grow, so ideal for the beginner gardener.
Hyssop (Anise) - an extra sweet strain of Anise, this herb is used to make one of the best herb teas with the leaves possessing a naturally sweet, wonderful anise taste & fragrance. It has lovely purple flowers that the bees love, so great as a herbaceous border to attract pollinators and other beneficial insects.
Cornflower (Polkadot) - this is a delightful mix of colour and a semi-dwarf variety that grows just 30 to 45cm tall - half the regular size. It blooms earlier than many other varieties and appear in range of shades and colours, from white to pale pink and blues. Easy to grow.
Sunflower (Hi Sun) - the Hi Sun grows up to 1.2m tall and is ideal as a bee attracting border, and to provide a wind break and much needed shade for some of your summer crops. It also produces good yields of high quality sunflower seeds for snacking.
Nasturtium (Double Jewel) - blooming through the spring and summer months, it has a mix of brightly coloured, semi-double flowers. Not only a great companion plant, attracting bees and trapping snails, this is the ultimate root to bloom with every part of the plant being edible. Consistently self seeds.
Snow Pea (Oregon) - very large, sweet pods, that grow up to 10cms in length. Growing to approximately 1.5m in height it will need a trellis to grow. Powdery mildew resistance makes it a good variety for both autumn and spring planting. Its sweet, crunchy pods make them difficult to resist; great garden snack.
Coriander (Eureka) - Eureka has a strong aroma and is mostly used for its fresh leaves, however the entire plant is edible and delicious. A tall standing type plant which is slow in bolting, it can be grown during the warmer times of the year when keep out of direct afternoon sun, but we find it grows best once the weather cools down. Perfect for autumn planting in temperate zones.
Corn (Sweet) - a sweet variety of corn that has juicy kernels with a high sugar content. A wind pollinated vegetable that bumps into each other dislodging pollen from the tassel on top to the silk on each developing cob. If growing in small numbers hand pollination is recommended.
Bean (Windsor Long Pod) - this popular bush bean has 15-20cm long green, flat pods and attractive, long, deep red seeds. Pick young pods regularly so they are stringless and to promote further flowering and production.
Absolutely beautiful store. I could have spent the day here looking at every piece of clothing and accessory. Still regretting not having purchased the bag I fell in love with. I will be back the next time I travel near the area.
My fave vintage and retro digs! Alley is such a sweetie and her cute little shop is just amazing. Good prices too!
